Brandon Berry, Brian Davis, Braden Thornberry and William McGirt Qualify at TPC Myrtle Beach for 2024 Myrtle Beach Classic

Brandon Berry (Great Falls, VA) fired a 9-under-par 63 on May 6 at TPC Myrtle Beach to lead a group of four golfers who advanced from an open qualifying event to earn spots in the inaugural Myrtle Beach Classic, the PGA TOUR’s first-ever Grand Strand event played May 9-12 at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club.

Brian Davis (Winter Garden, FL) and Braden Thornberry (Olive Branch, MS) finished T2 at 6-under, while longtime TOUR veteran William McGirt (Bluffton, SC) bested Mickey DeMorat (Merritt Island, FL) in a playoff after each golfer shot 5-under after 18 holes.

A 20-year TOUR veteran with a win at the 2016 Memorial Tournament and more than $11 million in career earnings, McGirt carded an eagle on the par-5 18th to advance to the playoff with DeMorat.

FINAL LEADERBOARD

The completion of the May 6 open qualifier at TPC Myrtle Beach finalized the field for the Myrtle Beach Classic, which included 42 TOUR winners highlighted by Brandt Snedeker (nine TOUR wins), Bill Haas (six TOUR victories) and Kevin Kisner (four TOUR wins and more than $29 million in career earnings). Chris Gotterup went on to win the inaugural TOUR event.
