Five of the Hammock Coast Golf Trail’s 11 courses have recently garnered special recognition on best-in-South-Carolina golf course ranking lists from Golfweek Magazine and the South Carolina Golf Ratings Panel.
Golfweek published its list of the best public-access courses in each state, allocating 15 spots to golf-rich South Carolina. Caledonia Golf & Fish Club was ranked #3, with True Blue Plantation and TPC Myrtle Beach following at #6 and #9, respectively.
The South Carolina Golf Ratings Panel, which consists of 125 members of the state golf industry and media, released its biennial “Best You Can Play” list of the top public-accessible courses in the state, broken down by region. The “Grand Strand” region included 14 courses between Pawleys Island and North Myrtle Beach, with five of them representing the Hammock Coast Golf Trail. Caledonia Golf and Fish Club was named “Best in Region,” while Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club, Heritage Club, TPC Myrtle Beach and True Blue Plantation were also honored.
“As the world’s most-awarded golf trail, we are excited to have so many member courses included on these prestigious rankings lists,” said Hammock Coast Golf Trail executive director John Rusher. “These five courses exemplify the depth and diversity of great golf visitors to the Trail can expect during their rounds.”
