Local Eats: Pawleys Island Tavern
Pawleys Island is home to great golf, restaurants and shops. A spot that you must stop at after a long day of golf on The Trail is Pawleys Island Tavern – commonly referred to as the “PIT”.
Located off Ocean Highway (17), the PIT sits just off the beaten path. With its large outdoor seating area and extensive drink menu it makes the PIT the place to be during the summer.
Not only can you enjoy your buckets of beer while in the company of your good friends, you can order one of the PITs one-of-a-kind pizzas. Steak shrimp, grilled mahi-mahi, and more!
If the food, drinks, and friends aren’t enough to convince you, Pawleys Island Tavern also offers a wide range of live music. Weather permitting, the PIT opens up the Tiki bar on the weekends at 4 p.m.
The PIT also hosts a happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m. every afternoon. If you go there at happy hour, you will save more money…which you can turn around and spend on more golf!
Located in the middle of Pawleys Island, the PIT is just seven minutes from Pawleys Plantation, sits just six minutes from Caledonia, and only FOUR minutes from True Blue.
Next time you are planning a golf trip on the Waccamaw Trail, make sure that you stop at Pawleys Island Tavern to get a burger and a beer!
