With so much to see and do on your golf vacation along the Hammock Coast Golf Trail, finding a restaurant that serves superb food in a laid-back, comfortable atmosphere should be a priority. So, whenever you feel yourself getting hungry on the South Strand, look no further than Rustic Table in Pawleys Island. It is truly one of the best restaurants in the area.
Rustic Table gets its name from its atmosphere. Wooden tables situated in separated dining areas create a more intimate feel that allows you to converse easily and enjoy your company. If you would like to sit outside, there is a covered patio area that is heated in the wintertime and cooled in the summer, making it a great option no matter the season. Their bar area is cozy and fully stocked, with a menu that features a variety of beers, wines and signature cocktails.
The food menu – for brunch, lunch or supper – features upscale Southern fare from Chef/Owner Adam Kirby, who very recently took home the top honor at the Atlanta Food & Wine Festival.
For supper, begin your meal with the fried pickles, served with homemade buttermilk ranch on top of a bed of greens. And for the main event, order the ribs. Many of Rustic Table’s diners will insist that you’re missing out if you don’t. Smoked all day in a shack literally attached to the restaurant, a generous portion of crispy-on-the-outside, melt-in-your-mouth-on-the-inside pork ribs are rubbed in Rustic Table’s signature BBQ sauce. It comes with fries and coleslaw, but what it really comes with is pure joy. Simply put, it is one of the best entrées you will find anywhere along the Grand Strand. You’ll be thinking about it on the 1st tee.
A popular brunch item is the Kirby Goes Bananas. Caramelized bananas on French toast with crispy hickory-smoked bacon make for sweet and savory meal. Turn it up a notch and order it with a side of hash browns. You won’t leave hungry.
