Two of the Hammock Coast Golf Trail’s perennial award-winning courses have now earned lofty spots in Golfweek’s Best 2021: Top 200 Resort Golf Courses in the U.S. rankings as Caledonia Golf & Fish Club and True Blue Golf Club have been honored in this prestigious listing.
With each course representing the design mastery of the late Mike Strantz, Caledonia is ranked 47th nationally in this list while True Blue comes in tied for 73rd place. Long considered among South Carolina’s and America’s elite courses offering public access, Caledonia and True Blue join fellow Myrtle Beach-area entrant The Dunes Golf & Beach Club (T43) in earning their customary spots inside yet another top 100 nationwide ranking.
As two courses in Strantz’s prestigious design portfolio, both Caledonia and True Blue continue to represent the best in Lowcountry golf as the South Strand’s most popular choices among vacation golfers. In addition to their Golfweek honors, Caledonia and True Blue have been consistently cited among America’s top 100 public access courses in such national publications and media outlets as Golf Magazine, Golf Digest, and Golf Channel since their respective openings in 1994 and 1998, respectively.
This list was first published in the print issue of Golfweek’s Ultimate Guide. Hundreds of members of Golfweek’s course ratings panel regularly evaluate courses and rate them based on 10 criteria. They also file a single, overall rating on each course, with overall ratings on each course then averaged to produce a final cumulative rating.
